Can I use ideaboxd without the AI?
Yes, and most of the product is built that way. Capture, the guided questions, highlight-to-promote, planning and export all work without ever touching it, on the free plan. It is one optional button, never a step you have to pass through.
Which AI model does ideaboxd use?
Google Gemini, called from a server function rather than from your device. Only the text of the idea you are working on and its open questions are sent.
Does the AI edit my original note?
No. The dump you wrote is never modified. AI output arrives as separate draft notes that you keep, edit or discard, and only the ones you keep become part of the plan.
What does the AI assistance cost?
It is part of Pro, at €7.99 a month or €59.99 a year after a 7-day free trial. Credit bundles buy extra active ideas, not drafts.
Who decides what the idea becomes?
You do, at every point. The app never promotes, summarises or rewrites anything on your behalf. A draft is a suggestion sitting next to your note until you keep it, and the plan is only ever what you chose to keep.
