Brainstorming app

A brainstorming app for one messy head.

No whiteboard, no sticky notes, no meeting. Just the dump, what you develop out of it, and a plan that never loses sight of either.

Opens the app as a guest. Nothing leaves your device until you ask.

From brain dump to workspace

Seven loose thoughts, one inbox.

Capture in any order and sort it out later. Titles write themselves, folders group what belongs together, and status only ever moves because you moved it.

  5. Moving along
Titles come from the first few words you wrote, so there is nothing to name. The cards settle into their folders (a Pro feature, nine fixed colours, one dot per card), then status moves on: Ideas → Refine → Planned → Ready, only ever because you moved it.

Start with the dump, not the template

One box, no fields. Write it the way it arrived in your head.

Develop the lines worth keeping

Highlight a sentence and give it a type. Ten types, from Goal and Problem to Risk and Next Step, each one still carrying the sentence it grew out of.

The questions you would not have asked yourself

ideaboxd points at what the note is missing, and can draft answers if you want them.

Come back with a clear head

Ideas that go quiet resurface in Review instead of sinking down a list.

Questions

About brainstorming in ideaboxd.

Can I brainstorm without an account?
Yes. Guest mode gives you one real idea that stays on your device, with no email and no card. Sync and export are what a free account adds; the optional AI drafting is a Pro feature you never have to touch.
Is ideaboxd a brainstorming tool for teams?
No, and that is deliberate. It is built for one person thinking alone, so there are no boards, no shared cursors and no comments to keep up with.
What happens to the ideas I never act on?
They stay exactly as you wrote them and reappear in Review after they go quiet. Nothing is deleted, and nothing nags you.
How is this different from a mind map?
A mind map spreads one idea outwards. ideaboxd runs the other way: you converge a messy dump into a small number of typed sections you can act on, and each of them still points at the part of the dump it came from.
